An Exhibition will be held in the TOWN HALL, WESTPORT from Monday 5th to Saturday 10th FEB entitled ‘100 YEARS OF THE IRISH IN KENYA’.
The Exhibition captures the story of the contribution and presence of the Irish in Kenya over the past 100 years.
It details the involvement of the Irish in all spheres of life in Kenya and where they have contributed to the development of Kenyan Society – namely, Kenyan Olympians and world record holding athletes have been coached by the Irish also pioneered major health developments and Kenyan coffee, one of the country’s key agricultural exports, was first commercially farmed by Irish and French Fathers.
This Exhibition has been co-ordinated by Ireland’s Embassy in Kenya and is hosted here in Westport by the Westport/Aror (Kenya) Partnership.
