Dance Workshops

Wednesdays and Fridays

Catering for ages 5 years upwards

Danceworld was established almost 20 years ago in Ballina under the founder and creative director Áine Egan. From its humble beginnings, it has gone from strength to strength, establishing itself with schools running across the county with classes in Ballina, Belmullet, Castlebar, Claremorris and Westport. Introducing two new locations in Ballinrobe and Galway. In our syllabus, we teach many genres of dance, ranging from different styles of hip hop, contemporary, musical theatre and confidence building routines.

We are a non-competitive stage school, with no grading or exams. For us, it is not only dancing. It’s about ensuring each child is placed in a class which suits their age and allows them to develop their self-confidence at their own pace, while working towards our annual summer showcase, where every student has the equal opportunity to feel like a star on a stage of possibilities.

Moffat School of Dance (traditional)

Saturdays 11am to 1pm

Catering for ages 5 years upwards

The Moffatt School of Irish Dancing is based in County Mayo, in the west of Ireland. Founded by Sheila Moffatt, the school has gone from strength to strength, and is now one of the most prominent Irish Dancing Schools in the country.

Moffats provide Irish dancing lessons to children and teenagers from age four upwards in many venues across County Mayo. Under the direct supervision and guidance of Sheila Moffatt, ADCRN - an Irish dancing teacher and adjudicator with over 25 years experience - they continue to nurture the continued development of the traditional arts from beginner to world champion levels. The school provides a friendly, safe and encouraging environment where young people of all ages can enjoy both solo and team Irish dancing.

Competition is optional; each child makes their own decision on the level of involvement they wish to pursue in both the competitive and non-competitive world of Irish dance. Classes have been running at Westport Town Hall Theatre on Saturday mornings since October 2019.
