After the highly successful “Prince Handsome” Pantomime in January 2018 Westport Town Hall Theatre is busy planning their next Pantomime which will be staged the first week of January 2019. “The Wizard of Westport” by Brendan Williams is cleverly based on a story as old as time. Doris and Dodo, a young girl and her talking dog are magically transported to a strange land, but their house has just accidentally killed a wicked witch! In order to get back home they must find the Wizard of Westport while avoiding yet another wicked witch. On their way they meet some familiar characters who all need the Wizard’s help. Will the wicked witch get her revenge or will everyone live happily every after?? From the panto-people who brought you ‘Prince Handsome’, you can expect an all-singing, all-dancing, laugh-out-loud show featuring local performers. Oh! Yes, you can!! Auditions will be taking place at Westport Town Hall Theatre on Saturday September 1st. Registration is essential. Adults, teens and children aged 8 years upwards are encouraged to take part. For last year’s Pantomime, we saw a cast and crew capacity of over 60 people, so it’s not just actors, dancers and singers needed, it’s people to help out in other areas of production such as backstage, costume, makeup and all sorts of Panto Wizardry!
