Described as a cross between Little Mix, The Nolans, and The Blind Boys of Alabama, The Nualas have long been Ireland’s top all-girl, shiney-dressed, musical-comedy trio. In fact, this year they are celebrating their 21st. Since their first outing in ’95, their unique brand of intricately-arranged, self-penned songs and provocative perspective on everything from spanx to hors d’oeuvres to global apocalypse has wowed audiences from Singapore to Moate.
In those 21 years they’ve played extended seasons in London, Dublin and New York, written and recorded several series for BBC Radio 4, appeared at the Royal Albert Hall, released a video (yes, ‘video’) with Sony, split up and got back together again, clocked up innumerable TV appearances, watched their BMIs shoot up and down, and up again; and met Chris de Burgh in the flesh. The Scotsman named them one of the top 5 comedy shows of the massive 2014 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Their performance will feature spanking new classics, red hot new chat and blistering new shoes. The girls promise to leave you helpless with laughter, delirious with pleasure, and a little disorientated if you can’t remember which door you came in.
