We are delighted to have artist Jason Goodman exhibiting with us for the month of September. The exhibition will be launched on Saturday, September 7th at 6pm.

Jason’s Mother, Mary T. Goodman, was an artist in her own right. She started his career at the age of 1, sending Jason for private art instructions at the Nicolo Cortilia School in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Mr. Cortilia, an “Academy of Rome” graduate, was a well-known portrait artist whose work now hangs in the Smithsonian Museum; Washington D.C. Jason studied anatomical drawing using stick charcoal on newsprint for a period of 3 years. ln 1967, Jason enrolled in a 2 year degree program which introduced him to the famous MARVEL DC comic artist, Howard Percell, creator of Thor’s Hammer’and ‘Silver Surfer’ comic book characters. He also studied under Andrew Palencar, a renown New York media artist, who designed the ‘Ritz’ Cracker Box’. After a stint in the US NAVY, with service on the infamous River Patrol boats in Vietnam, Jason returned home in October 1970 and opened his acclaimed ALCHEMY STUDIO & ART GALLERY in an old Coal Company office building. Alchemy Studio has been continuously operated to this present day. Continuing his studies for the next 12 years, Jason earned a total of 4 college degrees in the field of Art and Art Education. During that same time he developed his signature painting style with acrylic pigments on canvas. ln the mid 1970’s Jason was introduced to an experimental pigment called “iridescent” acrylics. He embraced these novel paints and incorporated them into his very successful technique’and is now one of the world’s leading authorities on their application and use. Since the early days of selling his work, Jason has relied on a Time & Materials’ painting structure. His paintings have sold throughout the world and hang in both public and private collections as a result. He firmly believes his artwork is to be priced reasonably so that a broad range of people can own and appreciate the work in the comfort of their homes, regardless of how many bedrooms they possess. Jason acquired his wealth in both advertising and the building design business, having owned two successful companies in those disciplines. For that reason, his work can be placed within the reach of anyone’s means. At this opportunity, allow us to present a significant collection of Jason’s current work using iridescent acrylic pigments on stretched canvas. Hope you enjoy the effort.
