After a sell-out gig in August 2016, Fresh Evidence are marking the end of their lifespan with their finale gig in Westport Town Hall. After playing throughout Ireland for the past three years, the members of Fresh Evidence have decided to go their separate ways and finish with a bang in the place they started, Westport.
Fresh Evidence cut their teeth playing gigs across Mayo, supporting acts such as the British Acid Blues band “Alabama 3,” the iconic Irish guitarist “Pat McManus” and Irish Rock band “The Strypes.”
When not rocking in Westport, Fresh Evidence have enjoyed gigs in Donegal, at the prestigious “International Rory Gallagher Festival,” where they have a growing audience year by year. Aside from that, they have made many appearances across the South of Ireland in events such as “Chickenstock Blues Festival,” Clonmel, and have a widespread fan-base throughout Northern Ireland from appearances in Belfast, including the “Wilgar Blues and Rock Festival” and Ulster City Hall.
For their finale gig they are joined with the up-and-coming star of Westport, the fantastic Sadhbh Hanks. Sadhbh’s repertoire includes a wide range of styles and genres, from Stevie Wonder to contemporary pop music to superb original songs. Sadhbh is gifted in her astonishingly accomplished piano and guitar playing – not to mention a uniquely powerful voice.
The set will feature classics of the band, instantly recognisable to anyone who has been to a Fresh Evidence gig, but also new material which pushes the boundaries of the label “Blues-Rock” and enters territory which will be exciting both for the band and the audience alike.
We hope you can come along to share with the band the love of music in the same way they have shared their passion in pubs around Ireland for the last number of years, and get a taste, for the last time in the town of Westport, of what Fresh Evidence has been all about.
